Cette réécriture de la belle et la bête sont une magnifique version touchante qui aborde avec réalisme et douceur des sujets forts et actuels. Tel que l'homosexualité cachée et l'infirmité motrice cérébrale. Une maladie rarement bavardé mais si bien fait ici. Jeune étudiante atteinte d'une maladie, Harper mène une vie plus ou moins saine au côté de son frère et de sa mère. Alors qu'elle prend un café avec Jake, la jolie brune tombe dans un monde féerique. Emberfall. Sans le savoir, la jeune femme est choisie pour rompre le sortilège sur Rhen. Un prince prit avec une malédiction sombre et terrible. Et elle est le seul espoir pour ce village, et l'arrêt de monstre. Brigid Kemmerer a donné vie à des personnages poignants, et adorables. Harper est doté d'une force incroyable, et Rhen, on apprend à l'apprécier et à l'aimer au fil des pages. Notre univers est jumelé à de la fantaisie avec brio, il n'a pas de longueur et le personnage principal n'est pas atteinte du fameux syndrome. Il n'y a qu'un commandant et deux jeunes gens qui essaient de voir au-delà de l'apparence et de la personnalité. Ils essaient de comprendre ce que le cœur et l'amour tout ce qui est véritable.

Pour moi, c'est une excellente adaptation avec des moments intenses, beaux et tristes.

Un premier tome unique qui nous laisse sur une notre frustrante.
