Après avoir lu Love Theoretically, il fallait absolument que je découvre la romance qui a amené Ali Hazelwood à son succès actuel. Malheureusement, alors que tous l'ont adoré, moi, j'ai été légèrement déçu. Olive Smith ne croit pas à l'amour. Mais pour sauver ses apparences auprès de sa meilleure amie et de ses questions sans fin, elle invente une fausse relation avec son prof de science : Adam Carlsen. Sexy et froid, et plutôt mystérieux, il accepte à contre coeur ce plan tiré par les cheveux. Tandis que la carrière de la jeune étudiante prend forme, son faux copain devient son support le plus important. Et Olive remarque que l'amour est plus compliqué qu'une simple hypothèse scientifique. J'ai entamé cette lecture sans trop d'attente, et heureusement, parce que cet univers-ci m'a semblé plat au contraire de la relation entre Jack et Elsie. Même si la romance primordiale, l'amitié prend une grosse place et j'ai trouvé qu'ici, elle était toxique et malsaine devant un amour si respectueux. Au-delà d'une trame sans saveur, cette romance est douce, consentit et drôle, et c'est grâce à la moitié de l'histoire qui a rattrapé un possible abandon.

Une bonne lecture, sans plus.

Un monde de science que j'apprécie, même aux côtés d'Olive et Adam.
